According to Netflix’s own share, by 2020, “Friends” will be “back home” on Warner Media’s new online TV channel, called HBO Max. Currently, Netflix is still a huge library that owns a lot of popular, attractive TV shows for viewers. Moreover, Netflix has spent billions of dollars creating its own movies. With these separate series, Netflix fully owns them and does not have to pay copyright fees as they do with “Friends”. It seems that for that reason, Netflix does not negotiate to retain “Friends”.
